30 weeks

Pregnancy: 30 weeks and pregnancy is morphing me into an approachable person! I am being recognized as with child and stranger friendly. Practically every time I go out someone choses me to ask for directions. Clearly I look like I know what I am doing! We also took our Hospital Tour which was kind of fun, I already knew what it looked like but it was still exciting to do this with Nick.

Weight Gain: 10lbs 4oz

Sleep: I have been waking up VERY early lately. Like 3am. But I did purchase an awesome area rug for our living room!

Gender: Baby Girl

Name: ;)

Feelings: Like I need to BUY EVERYTHING now! Good thing I have such a supportive partner ;)

Health: Still watching my blood pressure. And I am constantly thinking about drinking water... That should count... Right?

Movement: All. The. Time. And I love it!! But it is highly distracting. I feel like I have to stop what I am doing and put my hand on my belly and just feel her!!

Belly: I am definitely larger than I was with Shane. I really wish there were more photos of that pregnancy :(

Nursery: Her fabric has arrived and I am in love! We have also picked out her crib and I have made two canvases for her walls as well as finally narrowed down the other selections for her walls.

Next Appt: March 8, 2013 32 week check-up as well as the start to our NST's.

Family News: Shane is now addicted to R/C Helicopters. Thanks Honey ;)

Frustrated.

So yesterday. Sunday. Literally was gorgeous. So gorgeous in fact that while Shane was in the shower I snuck in his room and grabbed the secret stash of shorts (which he would live in even in the depths of winter) and laid out a nice sunny outfit for him to slip into for the day.
They day was laid out. Heading to Napa to run a few errands which included getting my boy a donut from a beloved pink and white bakery and possibly a stop at the barber.
As we headed out before lunch I was stopped dead in my tracks. The back of my car had been pelted with eggs. I was crushed, to say the least. I also was fairly sure I knew where the culprit lived. Next. Door.
As I stood on the stoop of my neighbors house and knocked on the door, I asked to speak with their oldest brother. To my surprise their mother was home. She is never home and in the year they have lived next to us I have never been able to catch eye contact with her long enough for a wave. I apologized for coming over but I had something to discuss with her. Earlier that week my better half's car had been hit by a wondering egg by one of her boys... So I can only assume that someone under her roof had yet again been playing with eggs, more deliberately this time though. Her vacant response from deep inside her house was "Oh" and she walked away.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!! I wasn't budging. I asked to speak with their oldest brother. He came out and talked with me about it and set out to figure out which of his younger siblings had done it. Fingers were eventually pointed all the way down to the sixth sibling. The four year old. Honestly? The four year old who just the following day stood on his porch and double flipped of my child while he was quietly "washing" his bike on our lawn. The four year old that was cursing my child out. The four year old, whose mothers' only response was "Oh."
Tears were starting to come.
Frustrated.
I had to walk away.
I pulled my car into our driveway and proceeded to wash off the egg, which was partially still "Eggy." Sibling #5 came over with a napkin to wash off the egg. I told him not worry about it that I would take care of it. He stood by my side. I told him that even if he didn't do something, or even if he did, the right thing to do is to let someone know. I can only assume I cried the whole time he stood next to me.

By the time that situation was taken care of and we were off to Napa it was after 11a.m. We took care of a few things, stopping by a closed barber shoppe and then headed to the bakery. Once inside the bakery I held the door open for an elderly gentleman coming in with a cane. This same elderly gentleman stepped right in front of my son who was next in line and proceeded to order every last donut the bakery had left for the day. I kid you not. My poor baby. We left my hands empty, his heart sad.
Frustrated.
This is the moment we chose to turn our day around. There isn't anything I can do about the morning, it was done.
We headed home and picked up different treats and enjoyed them at the kitchen table.
We met up with a friend of mine and spent some time in the sun and some more time walking around Target. We played with Easter stuffed animals we were not going to buy. We picked out a small easter treat. Mommy found a newborn pack of swaddlers on clearance 50%!! Then we headed home and made hotdogs.
Looking back at yesterday, I may have not handled myself with the most patience nor the most understanding. I was frustrated. I was tired. But I do hope that I was able to show Shane that we are in control of our feelings and we can chose to turn them around. It takes effort, a lot of effort but it can be done.
My son has such a big heart, he is so kind and so very forgiving. It hurts my heart to see him disappointed. I need to take those moments and stop everything I am doing, even when it is thinking a million things at once, and just hold him. He is growing up so very fast. And although I wish yesterday morning went dramatically different, Yesterday evening was peacefully wonderful.

Happy February 14th!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day full of love and laughter no matter how you chose to spend it!!
My cup overfloweth!! I am so blessed with these boys in my life! Baby O and I are so very lucky to be surrounded by their love, strength and patience!!

This year for Shane's teacher we decided to make her something a little special, that even if she doesn't end up eating, I hope it puts a smile on her face!

And my honey SUPER surprised me with his placement of my treasures!! I was literally standing next to them during my morning routine and NEVER noticed until I went back into my dressing room (the baby's nursery). I woke him up to ask when he sneaked in there to place them on the bed and he actually did it last night! I am so aware of things at 5am!!

We are fairly simple people and flowers are just outrageous this time of year, not that I would reject them if he picked them up for me though! But I did give him a list ;) and on it was Champagne glasses and the movie Tangled. I may have mentioned if he noticed any candy that he thought I would like while he was at Target picking me out a card (I even told him where to go lol;) that he could get that too. I am sure I sound like the most ridiculous person handing my honey a list, but practically 4 years in I know what keeps this house running. And I know he appreciates that more than "surprise me" ha ha.

And tonight Nick BBQ'd while I roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus and my big guy dipped strawberries in chocolate for a special dessert. I broke out the Champagne glasses for myself and Shane to sip fresca and Nick tried out his new Pilsner glasses.

Now that dinner is all tucked away we are going to settle in for a movie. Hotel Transylvania here we come!!

For my Valentines.

I love putting gift baskets together, probably because I LOVE receiving a basket full of goodies myself!!

For my first born, I decided to go with a movie night theme for him. I picked up a new release flick that I thought he would enjoy and filled a basket with goodies that would make a movie night/day in just perfect for him! So along with the movie I paired his favorite candy (skittles) as well as a soda pop just for fun! He LOVES stuffed animals, which I never buy. So I swallowed my mommy pride and picked him up something to cuddle (before he gets to big for cuddles).

For my tall, dark and handsome. He loves a good tri-tip. And good tri-tip around here just means Kinders. So I will be picking him up a nice marinated tri-tip from our local Kinders the day of. But in his love basket he will receive new beer glasses (since plastic isn't cutting it;), a case of his favorite beer and homemade peanut butter cookies just the way he likes them.

Their cards have been filled out and sealed with a kiss for weeks!! I just love those two!! And we will be eating in, along with my honey's Kinders I will also roast asparagus and smashed mini potatoes. And no Valentine's dinner would be complete without (homemade) chocolate dipped strawberries!!

LOVE the ones you're with!!!

28 Weeks!! 3rd Trimester!!

Photo to come!

Pregnancy: 28 weeks! Not sure exactly how pregnant I appear to the general public though. I went up to Apple Hill this weekend to pick up wine shipments from some wineries and I had to decline several tastings and pointed to my bump. But thanks anyways!!!

Weight Gain: 9.1 lbs before I ate the Tiramisu Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory.  AMAZING.

Sleep: Just fine. I am trying to sleep on my left, ya know... For organ health. But I sure do like the right side.

Gender: Baby Girl

Name: ;)

Feelings: I am so torn between wanting her here and freezing time. Not because I am worried but because it just goes so darn fast.

Health: Still watching my blood pressure. And I am constantly thinking about drinking water... That should count... Right?

Movement: So much movement, especially while I am driving in the car.

Belly: I am bumping into things. All. The. Time. You would think the fridge moved away from the wall a good 6 inches. I even get surprised by my reflection when I walk by a mirror sometimes. I am just so not used to it, nor feel like I have one.

Nursery: I ordered the fabric for her sheets and changing cover. Can't wait till they come this week.

Next Appt: March 8, 2013 32 week check-up as well as the start to our NST's.

Sweet Dreams

Thursday night...

I had two amazing dreams. The types of dreams I have never been blessed with before and could never imagine having nor appreciated them before like a could now.

The first was of this sweet little baby growing in my tummy. I think it's fair to say that dreams rarely make sense so the beginning of this dream might have seemed sad. I dreampt that I was ill and I had to go to the hospital and when I awake I had already had our baby. Except... Our baby to our surprise was a little boy. So I asked Nick what he named the baby since I was "unconscious" for the entire thing. He said his name was Oliver. This precious child was definitely not an infant at this point but an out right bouncing baby boy! He had bright red hair and gorgeous blue eyes. Not to forget the happiest little thing I had every laid eyes on. So precious! And so grateful to spend just a moment of time with that happy baby boy. When I woke up it was only 1am so I decided it was in my families best interest if I fell back asleep for a few more hours.

The second dream I ended up having was just what I needed. I had spent the evening earlier going through and clearing out photos from my Mac... Memory issues. So this dream was perfect. It was about my Shane, only he was just a little thing again! Toddler voice and all!! I could have lived in that dream with my sweet precious first born. He was the kindest child. So full of innocence and life. And it made me realize how precious even dirty, loud ten year olds will be 5 years down the road. I am so grateful to have him in my life, to be his mommy. To help (try to) guide him and keep him focused on continuing to be kind, strong and thoughtful. He is so forgiving it humbles me. I wish I had his heart, courage and self esteem. But I also miss that little toddler every day.
