O's Ten Month Update

10 Month Stats
Weight: 20lbs 4oz
Length: 29.25 inches
Head Circum:

Clothing Size
  • 9 and 6-12 Months depending on the brand.
  • Shoe size 2

Eating
  • The moment you put this one in her highchair she starts talking and screaming and grabbing and shrieking. Hilarious.
  • Breakfast is around 7am. Always fruit. Loves her yogurt. She will have whole plain greek yogurt mixed with a fruit puree, we have a batch of blueberry/cherry that she is gobbling up. A couple times a week she will have oatmeal with pears and cinnamon.
  • Lunch is promptly at 12pm. Two veggies and a meat.
  • Dinner around 5:30. Two veggies and a meat.
  • We have started making all your fruits and veggies this month. So far we have a blueberry/cherry blend, pears, carrots, peas, zucchini, purple sweet potato and roasted carrots/parsnips/butternut squash.
  • Not a fan of green veggies but will eat them mixed with another veggies such as carrot or sweet potato.
  • Snacks consist of yogurt melts, veggie melts, lil' crunchies from gerber, puffs of all shapes and sizes. But the favorite are the melts (freeze dried fruits and veggies)
  • Although still breastfed you will take a bottle at nap time with Daddy or Jessica, as well as sippy cups through out the day when Mommy is at work.

Sleeping
  • Bedtime starts around 6:30 with a bath, followed by lotion, hair brush and jammies. We go around the house and kiss every one good night and then go back to the nursery and pick out a book to read. I hold up two books, one in each hand, and generally the right hand gets picked but occasionally the left. After story time I lay you down and wrap you up in a "soft" blanket and then a large swaddle. Then we walk over to the light switch and Olivia turns off the light and shuts the door. We nurse and once asleep, or very sleepy and unlatched, it is bed time. Sleeping generally around 7:15pm-6:30am.
  • There were a couple weeks with multiple wake-ups during the night but once we started wrapping you up in two blankets that has stopped. It seemed you would wiggle around at night and get cold.
  • Napping twice a day. Morning nap around 9-10 and Afternoon nap around 2:30-3:30
  • It is rare these days for a nap to last longer than an hour for Mommy, but I hear it happens for both Daddy and Jessica.
  • We drove down to San Jose to visit one of my best friends who had recently moved closer to us and you slept on the ride down (for about 20 mins) and on the ride back home! I was so proud of you because in the past you and the car were not friends.

Milestones
  • Just working on refining all the new skills you learned in the past months!

  • You are not a fan of green veggies, but will tolerate them if they are mixed with something you like. Generally sweet potato, carrots or squash.
  • You are eating a fruit with whole milk yogurt or oatmeal in the morning. We keep the oatmeal to just a couple times a week because it seems to "stop you up" and I would prefer not to have two constipated babies.
  • You enjoy a combination of two different veggies along side a meat at lunch and dinner.
  • After Dinner is finished if you are still hungry I will put you a few snacks on your tray and you will pick them up one by one and munch away!

Sleeping

  • Naps are at 9:30am and 2pm

Happy Birthday Daddy! 12/24/13

Happy Birthday to my Love. The time we have together is limited these days. Deciding to change your work schedule so it would benefit our daughter was a selfless one. I know taking care of Olivia on your days off has been both a challenge and a blessing as you both figure the other out. It melts me and leaves me speechless the love and bond you are creating with our Daughter. Thank you for everything that you do for our little blended family. Happy Birthday Daddy!!

O's Eight Month Update

8 Month Stats
Weight: 19lbs 5oz
Length:
Head Circum:
Diapers: Size 3
Clothing Size: 9 Months

This month you have started eating more solids. You prefer and are happy to nurse  especially when you are sleepy. But you eat some type of meat and/or veggies in the evening before we have dinner. You have also started taking oatmeal, whole Greek yogurt and fruit with you to Jessica's. She feeds you after Mommy drops you off around 7 and again after you wake up from your nap around lunchtime. You are a happy little eater and haven't put up a fuss to any purees, although soft finger foods didn't go quite as planned, you will pick up and eat dry toast, crackers, puffs and Cheerios. No teeth yet so we are really not chewing things. I am going to miss that adorable flat little grin when it's replaced by chompers!!

You seem to have transitioned from three naps a day to two. One mid morning and another around 2:30-3. Our mornings start around 6, except when you wake at 5 you will usually go back to sleep until 7. Then we play and cuddle if Mommy doesn't have to work.

You still enjoy jumping in your jumper and have recently learned that the seat rotates. You spin around to look at the different toys and activities on it now, as well as follow people around the room if they are moving around.

You are a champion sitter! You will sit on your blanket next to a bucket of toys and will grab each toy out, give it a shake and toss it. One by one. Until your bucket is finally empty and then you go to town on that bucket! It makes your Daddy laugh, how much his girl enjoys that teal bucket. And although you haven't shown interest in "moving" you will do your very best to reach if something you want is close enough. As well as joyfully bouncing if we help you to stand near something you can hold onto yourself.

Lately, although you do not use a pacifier you have shown a lot of interest in playing with them. We have a small collection kept in the kitchen and if there are dishes to be done or a meal made/prepped you come and hangout in your highchair munching on puffs and playing with pacifiers.

Also while in your highchair we have started offering you a sippy cup with water. You are now able to pick it up with both handles and if it is full you can get a few sips out. But tipping it all the way up is still a little tricky.

You are such a joy, my sweet child! Pure joy!

Happy Birthday S!!! November 2013 *archived

Happy Birthday to my sweet baby boy. Eleven years old? How did we get this far so quickly. You have always been so thoughtful and kind. So eager to make someone smile. Your creativity has no end. Signing, acting, dancing, story writing, drawing, building... The list goes on and on.
These days you are obsessed with planning and dreaming of what you are going to be when you grow up. Currently you draw plans for a Auto Paint Shop where you will paint all the fastest cars in the whole wide world. You draw bays where the cars will be painted. You draw your waiting room brimmed with technology your customers can use to bide their time. And most importantly you draw cars. You have informed me that the more expensive the car the faster it is, and that my car is really, really slow but somehow still manages to get you to school ;)
You are growing so much these days. It seems like ages since your last growth spurt and now its a game finding pants long enough and in your size. Every time I blink something new doesn't fit!
This year you requested for your Birthday Cake to be chocolate with chocolate chips and fudge on top. You really enjoy thinking up interesting desserts by either adding something to the ingredients or decorating the outside. And for the love of cheese sticks. I should by stock in dairy or start making my own to keep you satisfied.
My sweet, sweet child. I hope you always have the fire to create. To dream. And the passion to see someone smile. Happy Birthday my love. You are growing too fast for your Mommy but I am so proud to see the Man you are becoming.

Your beloved Birthday Cake. Chocolate with Chocolate Chips and Fudge.
Silly boy opening up your gifts. This one was a gift card and a silly banana air freshener from your God Father Steve
Cousin Robert had the honors of watching little sister while we all went out to dinner for your Birthday. If she looks worried... She was.
Benihana's was a great choice. You love your rice and the show was pretty awesome too,
Mimi and Papa, along with Auntie Jenn and Cyrus came out from Florida to help celebrate your Birthday and Thanksgiving this year.

For your Birthday Party you choose to go to the movies. We picked Johnny up before hand and made you a donut "cake" before heading off to see Frozen. Turns out Frozen is about a couple princesses and not just about a silly snowman and a reindeer.

After the movie and dropping off Johnny we wrote letters to Santa and mailed them out to the North Pole.

We also popped into Build a Bear where you made a penguin and fitted him nicely with karate attire and Cyrus made a Papa Smurf!

We also stopped by Santa's workshop and whispered a couple secrets into his ear!
I hope you had a wonderful Birthday this year my love!
