O's Eight Month Update

8 Month Stats
Weight: 19lbs 5oz
Length:
Head Circum:
Diapers: Size 3
Clothing Size: 9 Months

This month you have started eating more solids. You prefer and are happy to nurse  especially when you are sleepy. But you eat some type of meat and/or veggies in the evening before we have dinner. You have also started taking oatmeal, whole Greek yogurt and fruit with you to Jessica's. She feeds you after Mommy drops you off around 7 and again after you wake up from your nap around lunchtime. You are a happy little eater and haven't put up a fuss to any purees, although soft finger foods didn't go quite as planned, you will pick up and eat dry toast, crackers, puffs and Cheerios. No teeth yet so we are really not chewing things. I am going to miss that adorable flat little grin when it's replaced by chompers!!

You seem to have transitioned from three naps a day to two. One mid morning and another around 2:30-3. Our mornings start around 6, except when you wake at 5 you will usually go back to sleep until 7. Then we play and cuddle if Mommy doesn't have to work.

You still enjoy jumping in your jumper and have recently learned that the seat rotates. You spin around to look at the different toys and activities on it now, as well as follow people around the room if they are moving around.

You are a champion sitter! You will sit on your blanket next to a bucket of toys and will grab each toy out, give it a shake and toss it. One by one. Until your bucket is finally empty and then you go to town on that bucket! It makes your Daddy laugh, how much his girl enjoys that teal bucket. And although you haven't shown interest in "moving" you will do your very best to reach if something you want is close enough. As well as joyfully bouncing if we help you to stand near something you can hold onto yourself.

Lately, although you do not use a pacifier you have shown a lot of interest in playing with them. We have a small collection kept in the kitchen and if there are dishes to be done or a meal made/prepped you come and hangout in your highchair munching on puffs and playing with pacifiers.

Also while in your highchair we have started offering you a sippy cup with water. You are now able to pick it up with both handles and if it is full you can get a few sips out. But tipping it all the way up is still a little tricky.

You are such a joy, my sweet child! Pure joy!
