Weight checks

So our little one was not up to her birth weight by 2 weeks. She was still hovering at a 10% loss at 18 days. It was mutually decided that we would start to supplement with 1oz pumped breast milk every four hours in addition to nursing every 2 hours. When it was noted at her daily weight checks that she was steadily gaining 1oz a day we relaxed to nursing every 2-3 hours and we would graduate to weekly weight checks until birth weight was reached or she reached 4 weeks. Today we were relieved to find she has continued to gain roughly 1oz daily and is  now a whopping 6lbs 12oz. Our Ped. also informed us that once she reached her birth weight she could sleep through the night without me having to wake he for feedings. Which I'm sure at that point she will NOT want to sleep through the night anymore haha.

So we celebrated with a trip to Carter's! O finally has a larger 'newborn' wardrobe! 

Baby Acne

Being a newborn is rough. 

Poor thing has had so many change to her environment. She really is a trooper. O is such an easy baby. Pretty much only fussy when she realizes her little tummy is empty. 

She blasted through 'newborn rash' fairly well. And it seems that whenever she truly is upset she turns fabulously red just like her mama. But within the last few days has developed baby acne. Poor sweet thing. I wish there was something I could do to speed this process up for her. Not that it is a concern to her. Clearly her mother is incredibly vain. 

Being a newborn is definitely rough.
