O's Six Month Update *archived

6 Month Stats
Weight: 17lbs 13oz (85%)
Length: 27 inches (85%)
Head Circum: 44cm (85%)
Diapers: Size 3
Clothing Size: 6 months

Half a year you sweet little thing! You are so busy these days. Sitting up on your own has been your biggest milestone! You have been trying so hard for so long and now you are so strong! We have a little teal bucket that we keep your toys in and you just love to take each toy out one by one and than pick up that bucket and wave it around! You could empty that bucket all day.
You have now been with Ms Jessica for one Month since Mommy has been back to work. I am so grateful to know that you are in such loving arms while I am at work. And her little ones adore you and offer endless amounts of entertainment!
Another milestone this month was introducing solids to you at dinner time. The game plan originally was to give you finger foods but you have shown that you are not a fan of messy hands. We choose not to start your journey into solids with baby type cereals. Instead your first finger foods were Broccoli, Toast, Sweet Potato and Banana. It appeared you did not like the way the Broccoli felt when you touched it. The next day we gave you some dry Toast and that was much easier for you to pick up and suck on. The third day we offered you roasted Sweet Potato and once you got past the outer texture you gave it a few good chomps! The fourth day we offered you a banana that you enjoyed scooting around your tray! The first puree we offered you was Sweet Potato and you gobbled it right up!
You are still a champion night sleeper and our evening routine couldn't be any simpler. Dinner (if you are interested), bath, Lotion and jammies, lights out, sounds machine on and Mommy nurses you to sleep. On the occasion you stop nursing before you sleep we just cuddle and I kiss your sweet temples until you fall asleep. The first time that happened I was blown away. What a dream you are! "I kissed my baby to sleep!" You are pure joy little one.

Dr Oteyza retired this Month. We will be sad to see him go (and relax in the British Isles). But I am grateful how relaxed and free he was with us. Not scolding us for waiting on Solids or holding off on some Vaccines.

Your expressions kill me! Will you always allow me to take pictures of some of your outfits?

Playdates! You and your friends are getting so big that you are all able to stay awake, at least for a bit, while we all socialize!

This is the first official time you sat up on your own!!! It didn't last more than a minute but I was so proud!!

We went up to Apple Hill this month to pick up Mommy's wine club and visit some different Orchards. We picked up a Crumb Apple Pie and a few donuts too. Brother was itching to go through a corn maze, but the poor guy was itching all the way home from his allergies.

My little morning person! Your smiles make 4am a little bit easier!

Sitting up for the first time with Ms Jessica!

And your first time riding in a buggy later that day. Oh the things you can grab now!

You are ready for some serious play now!

You have this thing about grabbing while nursing. Mommy's chin, lips, nose, arm, a single strand of hair. Ouch!

I just couldn't. You are just as adorable with a bow in your hair as you are with it covering your nose (mouth and chin in this case)!!

Great Uncle Larry had a gathering at his house for Cousin Tanya's Birthday. This was your first time meeting Papa's family. It was also the first time you had Stranger Anxiety. They were all aching to hold you but you only wanted Mommy!

Great, great Aunt Bonnie and you!

And now for a little dinner time action!! I could just watch you play with food all day!!

You have the strongest kicks in the world!! I am surprised (and grateful) that you haven't kicked yourself off your changing table. Because Lord knows that pad shifts with every kick.

Happy Birthday America!!

The 4th of July has always meant family celebrating together in my book. My parents would throw a great party full of friends, laughter and food!
I had mentioned to Nick this year since he was off what he thought about a BBQ. He agreed and the invites were sent!
Olivia and I decided to get all festive this year in our Red, Whites and Blues.
Can we just have a moment of silence for newborn clothes with pockets...

Unfortunately the majority of my family lives on the East Coast but we were so happy that Nick's brother and sister were able to come over and the kids could all celebrate together.
I have been wanting to get a picture of all the Biederman baby girls together and I snatched that moment up the second the were all in the same room!
And the day wouldn't be complete without my little loves.

I spent the night before preparing as much as possible. And after Nick fired up the grill there was quite the spread!
And when we weren't eating we were cooling off in the pool!

By the end of the night big brother ditched us for his friends... They grow up so fast. So we took little sister to watch some fireworks. Surprisingly enough she watched them the entire time!!

To the land of the free and the home of the brave!!
Happy Birthday America
